Introductory

A neonatal ventilator is a medical device used to provide respiratory support, particularly for newborns with respiratory problems, premature infants, or those with insufficient lung function due to illness. This device delivers a mixture of oxygen and air at a specific pressure and volume to the infant’s airways, helping to ensure oxygenation and regulate the removal of carbon dioxide. Neonatal ventilators can be used through invasive methods (such as intubation) or non-invasive methods (such as nasal masks or CPAP) and play a crucial role in the treatment process in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).
