Areas of Usage and Instructions

Introductory

An incubator is a medical device used to monitor and stabilize the vital functions of newborns, particularly premature or critically ill infants, by providing a controlled environment for temperature, humidity, oxygen concentration, and atmospheric pressure. This device helps maintain the infant’s body temperature, reducing the risk of hypothermia in premature infants who have not fully developed thermoregulation abilities. It also allows for oxygen therapy and respiratory support, while minimizing the risk of infection by isolating the infant from the external environment. The incubator enables close monitoring of cardiovascular, respiratory, and metabolic conditions, facilitating medical interventions during critical periods and enhancing the effectiveness of care in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
